Winter Produce

With the change of the seasons, so comes the availability of an exciting range of winter produce. Flowerdale Farm’s petite and baby vegetable collections will have good supply over the following months. Harvested from a variety of crops during the early vegetative stage, they have a highly concentrated flavour with a crisp and delicate texture.
Flowerdale Farm offers a wide range of petite carrots including: white, red, yellow, purple, orange and golf ball (round) heirloom varieties.
We also have a selection of other unique baby vegetables including: French Breakfast Radish, Baby Red Radish, Watermelon Radish, Baby Golden Beetroot, Baby Target Beetroot (Chioggia), Baby Red Beetroot and Baby Leek.
Our Petite and Baby Vegetable ranges are now available in punnets and bunches.
The Iron Chef Gourmet Exchange Dinner

Flowerdale Farm was recently invited to attend the Iron Chef Gourmet Exchange Dinner in Japan. The Australian chef delegation of Luke Nguyen (host of SBS TV Luke Nguyen's Vietnam), Florent Gerardin (Virginia Plain), Mark Normoyle (RACV City Club), Kin San Ikuei Arakane (Feathertop Wines Alfresco Dining Restaurant) and Pierrick Boyer (Le Petite Gateau) worked alongside 3 of the world renowned iron chefs to create a memorable meal event.
The Australian team developed the meal concept, with each chef delivering a signature dish reflecting their passion and skill. The Australians then played an instructional role, teaching the Japanese team the nuances of each dish. To develop the dishes further, the Japanese team then incorporated traditional ingredients and infusions of flavour to complement the dishes. These collaborative meal creations were then brought to life by the highly skilled iron chefs who cooked and presented the dinner to the packed venue of delighted dinners.
Flowerdale Farm general manager James Rattray was honoured to accompany the Australian contingency to this memorable event which resulted in an amazing fusion of culture and flavour.

There are also video tutorials from internationally recognised chefs including Alvin Leung (Bo Innovation Hong Kong & Bo London), Philippe Mouchel (PM 24) and Tony Twitchett (Taxi Dining Room) amongst others.
